How Team Business Works with Your Company

People will only really understand business if they run one. Team Business creates the dynamic, excitement and meaning of real hands-on experience versus traditional taught courses or computer simulations. There are three distinct phases to the program: customization, simulation and the application to your business.

Customization:
Prior to running the program, we meet with executive(s) from your corporation to understand your current challenges and to establish the results you wish to achieve from the program. The knowledge we gain from these interviews is then built into the second day of the program.

Part One: The Simulation
During the simultation, teams run 'real', hands-on businesses in competition with each other. No board games where success is dependent on the roll of a dice, no fancy computers where the 'feel' of business is absent. Real business, where hard decisions are made, products are actually produced and marketed, results are analyzed and the joys of success and pain of failure are experienced - and through this, learned forever. The teams are made up of participants from different departments and staff levels, creating a shared experience that has a dramatic effect on the company's internal communications and culture. The ideal program consists of 16-30 participants.

Part Two: The Application to Your Business
Part two then applies the principles learned in the simulation are applied to the reality of your business. The strengths, challenges, opportunities and desired outcomes, agreed with your executives prior to running the program, are then presented to the participants. Each department's role in the creation of value is analyzed and departmental teams get together and develop a hard 'business plan' for their own department, focusing on the maximization of value for bottom line results.

At the end of part two, these plans are presented to departmental managers for approval and put into action. Finally, a process and tools are provided to ensure continuous improvement after the program has been completed.

The Result:
The results are astounding. People with jobs become people with passion. They become internal business practitioners using hard business theory to maximize value in their everyday operations. And everyone benefits from the cost savings and increased productivity.

How to Get Started:
We will run a pilot program for you, attended by a range of internal stakeholders from every department and level. The pilot in itself adds huge value to the participants but, more importantly, provides the basis of a two-hour workshop in which we examine how the program can best be customized to maximize value in your organization. Whether you are a multi-national corporation or a start-up, Team Business can be tailored to meet the specific needs of your company.
